Buddhism
The basic tenets of Buddhist teaching are straightforward
and practical: nothing is fixed or permanent; actions have consequences;
change is possible. Thus Buddhism addresses itself to all people irrespective
of race, nationality, or gender. It teaches practical methods (such as
meditation, ethical awareness and creating conditions for insight) which
enable people to realise and use its teachings in order to transform their
experience, to be fully responsible for their lives and to develop the
qualities of Wisdom and Compassion.

At the Centre there are a variety of ways that you
can find out about Buddhism. Generally, we have found that learning about
meditation, which is fundamental to all schools of Buddhism, is the best
introduction - it enables a more experience based approach to the subject.
For a comprehensive introduction we recommend you complete the Part
1 Meditation & Buddhism Course.
You may also wish to attend our to
try our drop-in classes.
WHAT

courses and weekend days that may be on at that time, where you can learn
more about Buddhism.

and related topics. During the reception open times you are welcome to
come and find a quiet spot to read and research.
